Diffability Hollywood is a documentary about Hollywood’s portrayal of people with disabilities in films throughout history. The film’s mission is to emphasize the capabilities of people with disabilities, especially those with developmental disabilities and advocate for more inclusion of writers, directors and actors with disabilities into the movie industry. The documentary also urges the film industry to portray people with disabilities in less stereotypical ways.

Diffability Hollywood is complete. It is being entered into select film festivals for competition.  It will be making its official debut soon.  Stayed tuned for more information.

Filmmaker Adrian Esposito

As someone with autism, Adrian has experienced discrimination and stereotyping on a personal basis. The film therefore comes from a self advocate’s point of view. Filmmaker Adrian Esposito is a spokesperson for people with disabilities and was awarded the 2015 NYSARC Self Advocate of the Year Award and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his film making from the National Conference of Executives (NCE) of the Arc (10/16).

So let’s get the word out—let’s see people with disabilities as capable and their disabilities as “diffabilities.”

Donations are accepted at Fractured Atlas.  We are in need of funds for film festival entries, travel and cost of a Los Angeles premiere for the film.
